The Victory Medal issued to the next-of-kin of Peter Ogilvie, who was killed during the historic landing at Gallipoli on 25th April 1915.
Born 31st January 1885 at Mabel Bush, New Zealand. Son of William and Susan Jane Ogilvie (née Marshall). Killed in action during the landing on Gallipoli 25th April 1915. No known grave, commemorated on the Lone Pine Memorial.
Private Peter Ogilvie, whose death is reported this morning, was killed in action at the Dardanelles on April 25. He was born, brought up and educated at Mabel Bush, where his parents, Mr and Mrs Wm. Ogilvie, still reside. Prior to going to Auckland where he enlisted in the Second Reinforcement, Private Ogilvie was employed by the Invercargill Tramways. (Southland Times 28/6/1915)
