    Winfield Newth was born 27th April 1870 at Waimea West, Nelson, New Zealand, son of Mark Daniel and Harriet Newth (née Norris). He was educated at Waimea West School before moving into farming. 


    Medal is impressed 5819 TPR: W.M. NEWTH. N.Z.M.R. 8th CONT: (note the middle initial is incorrect).
