The British War Medal issued to 16/881 George William Walton Paul.

Paul served in Egypt and on the Western Front from time the Division landed in France until the end of the war - a remarkable length of service. This lengthy service apparently took its toll, as George Paul was discharged suffering from tuberculosis, from which he died in 1925. His death was attributed to his war service and his next of kin was issued the Memorial Plaque and Scroll.

The BWM is correctly impressed 16/881 PTE. G.W.W. PAUL N.Z.E.F.
