Raymond John Nolan was born 5th December 1916 at Temuka, New Zealand. Son of John and Helen Sarah Nolan. He was working as a baker in Waimate when he was balloted for service with the 2nd NZEF. He embarked in 1943 and died on on 8th March 194 of wounds received during the campaign to take Cassino in Feb/March 1944. He is buried in the Cassino War Cemetery, Italy.
